Why we're here Two members running past the railway near the gym Coach and member talking between sets

Nobody moves to Hackney because they've got it figured out.

You moved here for the job. Or the girl. Or the guy. Or both. Because your mate had a spare room and the rent was almost reasonable. Nowhere near, to be fair.

Two years in, you're still doing the same commute. Still swiping. Still checking your bank app like it's going to say something different this time.

Friday night you swore was going to be "just the one." Somehow it's 3am and you're the last three on the dance floor. Everybody's loved up.

Saturday you're ordering Uber Eats at 10.58am. Two minutes before the epic double sausage and egg McMuffin disappears.

Nobody warns you life's not a straight line. It's a rollercoaster. And most weeks you're just holding on.

Then you actually meet someone. You move in. You get a plant. The plant dies. You get another plant. You love. You argue. You love.

Someone in the group chat's having a baby. Someone else just got dumped. Someone's buying a flat in Zone 4 because apparently that's "up and coming" now.

You're not trying to be the best version of yourself. You're just trying to get through Tuesday.

That's what this is for. Not personal bests. Not a six-pack.

Just somewhere to put it down for an hour. Somewhere that gets what phase you're in. Because we've all been in it.

WE GET IT.

In their words.

★★★★★

This [is] not those bro-y, hardcore, push-you-until-you-get-an-injury place. It's a level-headed gym where they want to see you succeed.

It's the first gym I joined expressly for the people… The coaches take the workouts but not themselves seriously: there's as much laughter in these classes as there are groans of pain.

Questions

Before you book.

Anything else, email us and a coach will reply.

I've never lifted. Will I be out of my depth?

No. Start with Fundamentals: a quick chat, two small-group sessions with max 4 people, then your first class with a coach watching. After that, every workout has a lighter, simpler version and your coach will tell you which one to do.

What's the Locked Rate?

£160 a month for unlimited classes, or £140 for 12, instead of £185 and £155. You get it with the founding member offer while it lasts, joining on the last day of a 3-Week Intro, or completing the 6-Week Challenge. It stays yours for as long as you're a member.

Can I freeze my membership?

No. Your membership keeps running whether you train that week or not. You can cancel any time with 2 weeks' notice, but if you come back later, regular prices apply.

Is this a CrossFit gym?

No. We're an independent coached gym. Our classes use similar kit, barbells, rowers, rings, but the focus is on proper strength and technique at a sensible pace, not intensity for its own sake.

Can I train while pregnant or after having a baby?

Yes. Pre & post-natal classes are built for it, and coaches will adapt regular classes too. Let us know when you book.

How big are the classes?

Up to 12 people with one coach, so you get real attention on your technique.

Is there parking?

Yes, there's an on-site car park and a gated yard. Hackney Downs station is a two-minute walk and plenty of buses stop nearby.
